Bharat Soma (inset) attacked Darshana Narotam, 17, and Prashant Govinde, 22, in an apparent revenge attack because Ms Narotam refused to marry him. The pair had fled their homes in Wembley nine days earlier so the teenager did not have to go through with the arranged marriage. But the 26-year-old managed to track down the couple in Leicester where he carried out so-called ‘honour’ attack in broad daylight. In the footage, Soma is seen following the victims (left and middle) before launching the attack in front of horrified shoppers. Soma slit Ms Narotam’s throat, before stabbing Mr Govinde through the neck with the same knife (inset). Soma has now been jailed for 23 years. The judge – who praised the officers who were called to the scene (right) – said the attack was intended to be a ‘cold-blooded murder’.
What a sore loser! SHAME
