The stylist is a year older today. She is set to celebrate her birthday in remarkable fashion today, Sunday, March 1, 2015, as she initiates a scholarship scheme for the disabled who are seeking to develop themselves in the fashion industry.
According to reports, Toyin disclosed that the scholarship will be awarded to disabled individuals under the ‘I Rep For Hope Scheme’ to provide funds for them after their training program in order to make them dependent on their tailoring skills under the tutelage of Toyin Lawani herself.
The ‘I Rep For Hope Charity’ was initially set up by Toyin’s sister after the death of their mother, and Toyin has always been a part of the charity organization. Four years later, she took out time to train two disabled ladies with hearing and speaking impediments in tailoring.
The celebrity stylist also stated that: ‘You can support this cause by helping to set up those who are trained here. The government can also use this opportunity to reach out to disabled people out there assuring them that with life, all hope isn’t lost.’ An official fund raising exercise will be held today to help raise funds to set up a Salon and a Tailoring shop for two of her disabled staff under Tiannah’s Place Empire who have undergone training in their preferred field of work.
