Staff of Classic FM 97.3 are in mourning as one of their popular OAPs, Sylvester O. Ojigbede, died after a spinal cord related illness. The presenter, fondly called ‘Sly‘ anchored the Morning Show (6am to 11am) from Mondays to Thursdays as well as the Classic X-Press (6am to noon) on Saturdays.
He was reputed as a hardworking OAP who took his job very seriously and was always on hand to help colleagues out even when he was not officially due to be on duty….

Classic FM 97.3 deeply regret to announce the passing of one of our Presenters Sylvester Ojigbede popularly known as SLY, who was the host of the ‘Morning Show’ and Saturday morning show ‘Saturday Express’ on our station.
Sly passed away on Sunday the 3rd of May after a brief illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children and extended family at this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
