A 29-year-old housewife, identified as Vero Umukoro was allegedly caught in an illicit love affair in an uncompleted building in Irri community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta StateThe suspect’s husband, Benson Umukoro asked elders of his community to dissolve their marriage in the Isoko tradition. Sources said the woman and her secret lover were caught in the adulterous act in a secluded apartment within the outskirt of the community allegedly having sex.
Unfortunately for the victims, they were caught red-handed and the man was severely man handled before he was summoned by the woman’s husband’s family according to customs and tradition of the people to appease the gods in order to avoid further calamity, especially if the rituals are not observed and judiciously performed. A fine of N50, 000 was imposed by the family, on the woman who was also banished from the house pending when she complies with the directives.
