The reality star, 65, confessed she was worried about her deep voice and was considering surgery to make it higher. She also told her girlfriends – a group of trans women – that she wasn’t ready to get into a bathing suit in front of them.
‘The pool’s too damn cold right now,’ she told Jenny Boylan, a writer and co-chair of GLAAD. ‘It will happen at some point but I’m in no rush. She added: ‘This process of coming out doesn’t happen overnight. There are so many hurdles to overcome.’
Referring to wearing a bathing suit, she said: ‘That’s where I’ve got to get and that’s going to take time. I just don’t know if I’m ready to expose myself like that. Maybe down the line I’ll feel more comfortable but right now I can’t see myself doing that.’
