Photographer Gustavo Gomes captured girlfriend Priscila’s pregnancy and the moment she gave birth to their daughter Violeta at their home in Brazil two month ago in a poignant set of images. Gomes said he had been photographing his home life with Priscila for a while, so it seemed only natural that he would capture the birth as well. He described the 20-hour ordeal as ‘intense’, saying he cried after Violeta was born, and will continue photographing her for as long as she wants.
Priscila went to take a warm shower to try and relax, while the couple waited for their doula – or birth partner – to arrive to guide them through the rest of the process
