The House of Representatives will begin a hearing on an alleged N1 trillion rail contract scam tomorrow.Nigeria’s minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi as well as the Managing Director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, Seyi Sijuwade; former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Mohammed Bello Haliru; and former Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, have all been invited to give testimonies at the hearing.
The hearing will be conducted by an Ad-hoc committee chaired by Johnson Agbonayinma.
The committee held a hearing last year where the former Chairman of the NRC board, Bamanga Tukur denied awarding and approving the alleged contracts.
The hearing on how the NRC expended N1trillion in procurement of materials will begin tomorrow.
