Women appear in North Korea Advert

A bizarre new propaganda video featuring women berating men for smoking has appeared on tyrannical North Korea’s state media, it has been reported.  The propaganda is particularly odd because it features women – who are usually encouraged to keep their opinions to themselves in the nightmarish surveillance state.

More than 10 North Korean women appeared in the state’s anti-smoking campaign, according to Yonhap News Agency Tuesday. Around half of all men smoke in the impoverished Communist nation.

They address the camera with slogans like: “I think a person who begins to smoke from the early morning is very rude and has no common sense” and “Men don’t listen to women’s advice to quit smoking. They don’t think smoking is bad for their health.”

Other messages include: “We, women, will be really happy if men give up smoking,” and “Mother becomes very anxious when she finds out her son is a smoker.” Jeon Yong-sun, the research professor at the Institute of Humanities for Unification in South Korea’s Konkuk University, said: “It is very unusual that a group of female citizens appear in the state-owned media and express their opinions.”

“The state is trying new methods to decrease the rate of North Korean male smokers, which stood at more than 50 percent.”

Obese tyrant Kim Jong-un is believed to have quit his heavy smoking habit for his health.
