Popular Nigerian comedian and Wazobia Fm radio presenter, Steve Onu also known as Yaw is set to stage the eight edition of ‘Yaw Live on Stage’ alongside top Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun on Sunday, May 29, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The title of this year’s stage play is titled ‘Shalanga’ meaning ‘pit latrine’ which can be reported to be a continuation of his show in 2014, ‘Po’ where he featured Nedu and Ogbolor.
Yaw disclosed that although the stage play ‘Shalanga’ was written by Nollywood actor Femi Branch but for him the main reason why the play was name Shalanga is due to the economic situation of the country. Yaw said: “Shalanga as well all know means ‘pit latrine’ which depicts that Nigeria is a country where everybody from any part of the country or continent come to deposit all sort of rubbish and our beloved country ‘Nigeria’ accommodates every mess been deposited inside it. The main problem is who will help save Nigeria from all of its mess.”
