Veteran disc jockey, DJ Midas (real name Michael Adefoyin) is dead. The prominent disc jockey who is popular for his work at Rhythm FM passed on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, after a brief period of illness. He was aged 45. Siverbird’s Rhythm 93.7 FM, where DJ Midas worked since 1998, has confirmed the death, with a statement released on their official website as captured below:
“We are sad to announce the passing away of a friend, former colleague and one of the baddest DJs in Nigeria, Michael Adedoyin aka DJ Midas,” the statement reads.
“DJ Midas as he is fondly called by his fans and loved ones was one of the pioneers of Disc jockeying in Nigeria. He was adored by many due to his jovial nature as well as his skills on the turntable.”
“After working for many years at Silverbird’s Rhythm 93.7FM, he went on to continue his career as a DJ, still delivering top notch entertainment to his many adoring fans. Our prayers are with his family at this time even as they mourn his death.”
