Just 24 hours after making her first on-stage performance since undergoing a kidney transplant at the American Music awards in Los Angeles, Selena Gomez stepped out to support a good cause on the other side of the country. The singer, 25, was in New York City to attend the Breaking Through Gala benefiting the Lupus Research Alliance. The starlet paired her newly dyed blonde locks with a bright yellow dress gathered at one shoulder and an asymmetrical hem.
Selena showed off her legs in the dramatic number that was comprised of a slip with diaphanous overlay. The overlay fell to the floor at the back revealing her legs and her stunning pair of embellished yellow and silver sandal heels. Selena wore her long bob swept back into a chignon and added black mascara, a touch of blush and some light pink lip color.
The former Disney tweener was diagnosed with lupus a few years ago and in September she revealed she had had a kidney transplant as a result of some of the complications of the disease. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes a person’s immune system attacks healthy cells causing damage. There is no known cure and, according to the Lupus Research Alliance, it is most often diagnosed in young women between the ages of 15 and 44.
