The spokesperson of former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida, Kassim Afegbua, has turned himself in at the police headquarters after suing the Nigerian police and media house for N1bn. He arrived at the police headquarters at about 11am and was received by the force public relations officer, Jimoh Moshood.
Afegbua was declared wanted by the police on Monday February 5th over the controversial statement he released on the instruction of his boss, Babangida. The former military leader in the statement asked Nigerians not to vote for president Buhari in 2019.
The police declared Afegbua wanted ”for making a false statement, injurious falsehood, defamation of character and for act capable of inciting public disturbance throughout the country”.
He is now at the force headquarters. Afegbau yesterday instituted a N1 billion lawsuit against the police and others for declaring him wanted without a proper invitation.
