Rick Ross is delaying his daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday bash following his hospitalization last week for a suspected heart attack. Sources close to the 42-year-old hip hop star say that the $100k party for his daughter Toie was meant to be held on March 17 at Casa Casuarina, formerly the Versace Mansion.
But now the Purple Lamborghini hitmaker’s family have decided to postpone the party after the rapper’s health scare, TMZ reports. The website writes that the event was going to be the biggest yet with hundreds invited with numerous performances and plenty of surprises in store for Toie.
In the past, Rick has thrown elaborate parties for his eldest daughter including performers like Rich Homie Quan, Trina, Meek Mill and Ace Hood. There has been no word yet of a new date for the bash. Rick was released from the hospital on Monday after a four-day stay for serious heart issues.
The Hustlin’ hitmaker was reportedly placed on life support after being found unresponsive at his Miami home on Thursday. Someone at the home called 911 at 3.30am to say the person in distress was ‘unresponsive with heavy breathing’.
The caller said the man in distress had a history of seizures and that they tried to wake him but he was ‘slobbing out the mouth’. According to TMZ, Rick was being treated in the hospital’s cardiac unit, and it is suspected the star suffered a heart attack which manifested itself in respiratory issues.
TMZ also reported the Aston Martin Music rapper has been ‘hooked up to a machine that’s taking over the function of his heart and lungs’ whilst he continues to undergo treatment at the hospital.
Sources told TMZ Rick has been placed on ECMO, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, which is a technique used to oxygenate his blood outside of his body, before it’s pumped back into his body.
His family denied he was on life support.
