Kim Jong-un Becomes First North Korean Leader To See K-pop Band

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was entertained by South Korean K-pop stars in Pyongyang today. Kim and his wife clapped along with the songs and then joined the performers back stage after the cultural exchange event.

 

South Korea’s official news agency Yonhap reported Kim was the first Korean leader ever to attend a cultural performance from the South. Do Jong-hwan, South Korea’s cultural minister, told reporters: ‘Kim showed much interest during the show and asked questions about the songs and lyrics.’ The concert comes as relations thaw between the two Korean countries and several summits have been agreed between the nations
