Avengers, Infinity War hit the big screens in both UK and Irish cinemas on Thursday night, and over the past three days has grossed a whopping £21.75million. Saturday saw the film cash in £9.2million, and saw 78% of movie goers flock to the cinema for the film, which broke the UK box office making it the biggest Saturday opening ever. It is on course to take an estimated £29million for it’s overall four day opening weekend, and if these estimations prove true, Avengers: Infinity War will have the 3rd biggest weekend ever, and Disney’s second behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
On a global scale, the movie has already taken over $630million (£450m), and has broken the US box offices by becoming the highest global opening weekend with a staggering $250m (£180m). It joins only six other films to achieve such amazing figures, and is now Marvel Studios’ best opening weekend yet.
