A 12-year-old boy has been found dead in a football field in Katsina state. According to reports, the boy went out to play at the field on Monday and didn’t return home that day. His guardians launched a search for him the next day after declaring missing, only for his corpse to be discovered at the field.
His body was cut open and a rope mark spotted around his neck which suggested he was strangled or tied up before he was gruesomely killed. His vital organs were still intact, according to reports.
The police were notified of the development and his corpse deposited at the mortuary.
Residents who have been gripped with fear – are wondering what would have prompted the boy’s killers to murder him in such manner.
