A mother was branded ‘evil’ after she was accused of cutting her seven year-old son’s head off with a knife. Hanane Mouhib, 36, is accused of killing Abraham Cardenas at her home in Sweden, upstate New York on Thursday.
‘When police arrived on the scene there was a lady armed with a knife, refusing to surrender that knife. ‘Deputies made the grim discover of Abraham.
‘He suffered a stab wound to his back and a severe stab wound to his neck causing his head to become disengaged from his body .’ Sheriff Baxter said there was currently no motive for the horrific crime, saying: ‘There’s absolutely no explanation for it. ‘The word evil comes to my mind, there’s mental hygiene issues. ‘This is a mother that took her son’s life we believe, and with that i have no explanation. We see no motive, we see no indicators of why. Sheriff Baxter explained that deputies were called to the property on South Lake Road after receiving reports that a woman was suicidal.
Mouhib, a registered nurse practitioner, refused to give up the knife she was holding when ordered to, forcing deputies to pepper spray and taser her. Her husband, mother-in-law and Abraham’s 10 year-old sibling were home at the time. He said the killing took place on a first floor room of the family home, and that Mouhib was believed to have been alone with his mother when he was killed. Sheriff’s also revealed Friday that Mouhib made two calls to 911 last month to seek help with mental health problems. She has been held without bond and is due to appear in court next Wednesday.
