Arsene Wenger Gives Young Fan Red Tie

Arsene Wenger has given one young Arsenal fan a valuable memento: his red tie worn during his final game at the Emirates Stadium. Having overseen a 5-0 thumping of Burnley, the focus turned to Wenger’s farewell as former players and coaches Bob Wilson and Pat Rice help commemorate the Frenchman’s 22-year tenure.

The Arsenal boss was presented with the golden Premier League trophy that the club was awarded in recognition of their Invincibles campaign in 2003-04. But Wenger was not the only person to leave the Emirates with a prized possession as one young fan’s sign prompted Wenger to hand over his tie.

Wenger was in the middle of the traditional lap of honour as players and coaches walk the pitch after the final home game of the season, before spotting the sign.

Jumping the hoardings, Wenger walked over to the fan and handed over his red tie and got a hug from the youngster as a thank you.

Wenger then continued to walk the Emirates Stadium pitch as ‘There Is Only One Arsene Wenger’ rang around the ground.
