The host of the BBC show ‘The Apprentice’, Lord Sugar, has come under severe criticism for referring to Senegal’s football heroes as people selling sunglasses and handbags on beaches.’ on Twitter.

Although in his opinion he actually meant that they were ‘multi-tasking resourceful chaps’, but it did not go down well with social media users who accused him of being racist.

He tweeted with the picture of the team, some handbags, and sunglasses that he recognised some of these guys from the beach in Marbella.

Sugar has since deleted the tweet.

See some of the responses:

When racism becomes acceptable and “funny”.

Always call it out.

Disgusting by @Lord_Sugar and not even an apology but tries to defend it.

Another person tweeted:

A tweet about Senegalese players working on the beach is causing outrage and everyone is disgusted.. Yet a tweet about Polish people cleaning cars gets 10,000+ RT’s

Funny how stereotyping and racism only applies to certain races isn’t it? We’re all bleeping human! @Lord_Sugar

And this:

Why did you delete the tweet if you thought it was so funny @Lord_Sugar ? I saved it for you. Maybe there is an issue with your Twitter app. Here you go! Glad to be of service, you racist cunt!
