Lamar Odom has signed a deal to write a tell-all book about his failed marriage to Khloe Kardashian. The retired professional basketball player has admitted that he ‘wanted to release this book to give you all a chance to get to know Lamar Odom and my real story, directly from me’. Lamar, 38, and Khloe met in August 2009 and married just a month later, but four years later the pair confirmed they were going to divorce.
However, the papers were never finalised and in October 2015 Lamar was hospitalised after being discovered unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada. He was in a coma and placed on life support before he made a full recovery; during this time Khloe withdrew her request for a divorce citing her desire to help him make medical decisions. A year later the divorce was granted by a judge, and now Lamar has revealed that he also hopes the book proves to be an ‘inspiration’. ‘I hope to (be) an inspiration to many that you can overcome adversity and challenge no matter where you fall from,’ he told Us Weekly. Sources close to Lamar also claimed that he plans to ‘dish on what really went on (behind) those hospital doors and what the world didn’t get to see as well as rehab’. ‘We get to read about a side of Lamar Odom we never got to see on Keeping Up With the Kardashians or Khloe & Lamar nor on the basketball court,’ the source added.
