A football star was very stunned as his mother surprised him on the pitch as he was awarded his 100th international cap for his country.
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen received an unexpected surprise when he was awarded his 100th international cap last night. The 31-year-old made his landmark appearance for the Red Devils in their goalless draw with Portugal.
And ahead of the game he was shocked to see his mother walking out onto the pitch to present him with his special cap.
Vertonghen looked amazed and shared footage of the magic moment on his Twitter page after the game.The star made history in becoming the first-ever Belgian to reach triple figures of appearances for the national side.
He became his country’s most-capped player last year. The star was clearly moved by the gesture.
Vertonghen took that record from Jan Ceulemans. The former attacking midfielder played 96 games for his country between 1977 and 1991.
