The Goldbergs actor Jackson Odell has died age 20. The young star is thought to have died Friday in the San Fernando Valley, north of Hollywood. TMZ claims there were no signs of foul play. He was found unresponsive in a sober living home; sober living homes are group homes for people who are recovering from addiction issues.
His family confirmed the star’s death in a statement obtained by Metro.co.uk, and later shared on the late star’s Twitter account. ‘The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell,’ the statement read. ‘He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul.
‘He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world does as well. ‘We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately.’ Jackson’s career began age 12 in TV show Private Practice, and he has also starred several hit TV shows including iCarly, Modern Family and Arrested Development. He was also a musician and wrote several songs for the 2018 film Forever Your Girl. In the ABC comedy The Goldbergs he played student Ari Caldwell, a friend of Erica and Lexi, and Dana’s older brother.
