A presidential aspirant on the platform of Conference for Nigeria Political Parties, Chief Martin Onovo, has described the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as dictatorial and an overthrow of democracy.
Onovo said this at a summit organised by the CNPP, South West Chapter on Tuesday in Lagos with the theme, ‘Rebuilding democratic values in Nigeria’.
Onovo, who emerged as the favourite for the coalition’s ticket in his paper presentation named, ‘Nigerian Politicians and the New Nigeria Vision’, expressed displeasure over the state of the nation under the present government.
He said it was imperative for patriotic politicians to get a clear vision of a new Nigeria and ensure the realisation of such vision.
He said, “We have identified eight ways the current government is planning to rig this election. I can’t say everything in public but I just want to say that we will overwhelm them. There is no way that cabal of less than a thousand people can stop 200 million Nigerians. We will chase them away. The grand coalition is here. Everyone is coming together; the reformed APC, new PDP, PDP, everyone is together in the coalition of united political parties.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of the CNPP, South West chapter, Mr. Oloye Adeniji, noted that Nigeria was slowly moving towards anarchy hence the need for the party’s intervention strategy.
