The Republic of South Korea’s Ambassador to Nigeria, In-tae Lee, has advised the Federal Government and the private sector to develop the creative and entertainment industry as a means of creating employment opportunities for the country’s teeming population.
The Korean envoy said Nigeria, with a population of 198 million, had “abundant talents” and would benefit from investments into the entertainment industry “with the required commitment from stakeholders.”
Lee made these remarks on Saturday at the 2018 Korean-Pop Competition in Abuja, organised by the Korean Cultural Centre of Nigeria.
According to him, such avenues are good for Nigerian youths to showcase their creative abilities.
Our correspondent learnt that in the Korean competition, 10 Nigerian teams participated in the secondary schools’ category, while 30 crews participated in the professional category. The winning teams in both categories were awarded N500,000 each.
