A mother who died after a £3,000 ‘bottom lift’ at a Turkish clinic was paranoid about her stomach after having three children, her fiancé revealed.
Leah Cambridge, 29, from Leeds, is believed to have suffered three heart attacks after the operation to lift and increase the size of her bottom at the Elite Aftercare Clinic in Izmir.
It is thought the mother of three died on the operating table at the celebrity clinic favoured by the cast of The Only Way Is Essex.
Her partner of ten years Scott said Miss Cambridge wanted the op because she was self-conscious of weight around her stomach from giving birth to their three children.
Mr Franks, of Leeds, West Yorkshire, said: ‘Leah was paranoid that she had excess weight from having three kids round her stomach.
‘I told her she was beautiful how she was but she really wanted it for her own confidence.
‘I didn’t think this would ever happen – or could happen to her.’
He believes Leah’s operation went wrong after fat was deposited into her blood stream and her oxygen levels dropped.
He says she was brought back to stable but she then had three heart attacks.
He said: ‘Leah was under anaesthetic and complications happened due to fat getting deposited into her blood stream and her oxygen levels dropped.
‘She was brought back to stable but had a further three heart attacks and there was nothing they could do after.’
Mr Franks, 31, also issued an impassioned plea for more information around the circumstances of her death, as his life, he said, had come crashing down around him.
