A girl has been branded with Nazi tattoos after she was kidnapped, raped and tortured by a gang of young men. The 17-year-old was taken against her will to a house in the town of Olad Ayad, Morocco, by a group of 13 males. After being verbally abused and burned with cigarettes during her ordeal she was branded with swastika tattoos and insults all across her body.
Police were only made aware of the girl’s plight a month after she vanished when she was finally released by her captors.
Buchra Abdou, the founder of the Tahadi Association for Equality and Citizenship, told local media the victim was raped in turn by the gang. Abdou said the case might have been reported sooner as rural villagers in Morocco are often scared of the police. Eight suspects have been arrested while another five are being searched for, according to reports.
The Tahadi Association for Equality and Citizenship have said they will act as the civil defence for the victim. Abdou said the association will also provide a psychologist for the victim as she suffered ‘one of the most savages acts I have seen in my entire life’. The investigation is ongoing and no motive has been provided for the crime.
