A 25-year-old Bluefield State student-athlete died at a local hospital on Monday night after collapsing following a pick-up basketball game.
Oritsetimeyin Amatossero-Keke, a 2nd year student from Lagos, Nigeria, died from unknown causes after leaning over to tie his shoes, following an open gym session at Bluefield High School.
He was transported by car to Bluefield Regional Medical Center, where doctors did an outstanding job, but couldn’t be revived. Amatossero-Keke was an outstanding student with the highest grade point average on his team.
