
Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello on Tuesday visited affected communities ravaged by flood in Mokwa, Lavun, Katcha, Agaie and Lapai Local Government areas of the state.
Gov Sani-Bello who flew in Police Helicopter in order to have aerial view of the affected communities and also assess the impact of the flood, call for Federal Government Intervention. Over 50 communities were affected.
In line with global best practices, flying in an helicopter over areas affected by flood or similar emergency situation allows for a bird eye view or total picture of such devastation.
The Governor had earlier directed the immediate distribution of relief items worth over N 60 million to the affected communities in Kede, Mokwa Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Ketso, Chief of Staff, Hon Mikhail Almin Bmitosahi, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe, Commissioner for Environment, Special Adviser, Special Duties, Alhaji Umar Alkali (Sardauna) and Director General , Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA.
