Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed baby Chicago earlier this year, sending us all into meltdown over cute family snaps. And, during an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians – which is set to air in the UK soon – the mum-of-three has already revealed there was a lot of debate over the little one’s name. In fact, at one point the 37-year-old ‘scoured a map’ to find a fitting name for their new arrival.
Speaking to sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, she hinted at the names, ‘Italy, Milan and Rome’. She then sought out ‘biblical and zodiac’ options, following on from North and Saint – but eventually decided against all of them. And the businesswoman revealed Yeezy’s suggestions weren’t any better. ‘I got the most ridiculous ideas, like Queen, and Vuitton and This,’ she told Kourt. ‘Kanye’s cousin is like, Miracle, and I’m like, Miracle West?! That’s like Miracle Whip and that’s the biggest stripper name of all time. ‘And then he’s like, “What about Precious?” Clearly we don’t have the same taste in names.’
Eventually they settled on Chicago, Chi [pronounced Shy] for short. ‘Everyone asks us where we came up with that,’ she later explained in a confessional. ‘Kanye is originally from Chicago and the city is really connected to his memory of his mum. So we went with Chicago.’
