La Liga Round 6 Preview: Getafe Look To Bounce Back Against Alaves

0

Girona hope to build on solid start against Real Betis, while Valladolid are still searching for first league win of the season.

The sixth round of action in Spain’s La Liga is a midweek affair, with three games involving some of the smaller fish in the country’s footballing pond set to take place this coming Thursday night (27 September). Getafe, having lost to Atletico Madrid last time out, will look to recover form against an out of sorts Alaves, with Girona hoping to build on that draw away to Barcelona against an out of sorts Real Betis side.

First up, the surprise package of the season so far, Alaves, travel to take on Getafe looking to maintain their excellent start to the season. Alaves sit in third place with 10 points from five outings, just three behind pace setters Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Getafe have dropped down to 10 th following that loss to Atletico Madrid at the weekend and will be looking to bounce back here. But Alaves have had the better of this fixture recently, winning three of the last four meetings between the two teams.

And while the betting is close, it is Alaves who come in as the favourites to take the points and continue their run of form. You can more than double your money by backing an Alaves win at
2.70, with Getafe only slightly higher at 2.87 – in turn, you could triple your money by backing a draw at 3.00, according to Oddsshark.

Alaves put five past Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, but we are expecting a closer game here.

A 2-0 win for the home side is priced competitively at 11.00, thereby offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment.

Valladolid looking for first league win against Levante

Two out of form teams meet when Valladolid host Levante in a clash at the bottom of the table. They only scored their first goals of the campaign in the previous round as they held
Celta Vigo to a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Levante, meanwhile, have not won since the opening day, and are reeling after suffering a 6-2 mauling at the hands of Sevilla this past weekend. They have the second worst defensive record in the division, having leaked 11 goals at a rate of 2.2 goals per game.

And with home advantage, it is Valladolid who come into this match as the favourites to pick up their first league win of the season. You can more than double your money by backing

Valladolid to take all three points at a price of 2.05, with Levante all the way out at 3.60 to do the same.

And we expect the home side to get their first victory here. A 2-1 win for Valladolid is priced at 8.50 – meanwhile, you could also almost double your money by backing over 2.5 goals in the game at 1.95.

Girona look to build on Barça draw

And finally, Girona will hope to take the momentum from that 2-2 draw at Camp Nou into their meeting with a struggling Real Betis side. Betis have won five of the last six matches between these two teams, but are struggling for form this term and have just one win to their name so far.

Girona, by way of comparison, are in excellent form, and have lost just one of their last six league outings. They currently sit sixth with eight points, with Betis seven places and two
points behind them, having taken just seven points from their last eight La Liga matches.

And while the betting is close in this one as well, it is Girona who come in as the slight favourites to take the points. Again, you can more than double your money by backing Girona
to win at a price of 2.50, with Real Betis at 2.87 to do the same – a draw would look to be the least likely result, and is priced accordingly, at 3.30.

And we are expecting Girona to build on their recent run with another victory. A 2-1 win for the home side is priced at 9.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$47.50 pay out – you can also back both teams to score at 1.66.
