A newlywed couple have returned from their honeymoon to find their entire house wrapped up in pink plastic. Jenny and Jonathan Minger had to use a pen-knife to cut their way into their home in Alsager, Cheshire, following the hilarious prank. It turns out four of their friends decided to surprise the duo as they returned from a two-week honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.

Shocked Jenny couldn’t believe her eyes when she arrived home from the airport this morning. The 25-year-old, who works at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, said: ‘We were shocked, it was a big surprise. We weren’t expecting it at all. ‘We only moved in three months ago. I was like “Oh my goodness!” They couldn’t have chosen a better colour to wrap it with. ‘It’s actually the plastic that Jonathan uses on the farm to promote breast cancer awareness.’ Jonathan’s bosses James and Dawn Oulton and his friends Andrew Ripley and Dan Sale spent around four hours putting up the plastic under the cover of darkness before they arrived back home at 8am.

Dairy farmer Jonathan, 24, said: ‘Apparently it’s a thing people do now when you come back from honeymoon, it was a prank. ‘I was a bit surprised, but it’s a bit of a laugh. It took them three hours to put it all up. ‘All the neighbours came out last night to watch. ‘We got back this morning at about 8am and it took about half an hour to get down with a pen knife.
