Swansea star Martin Olsson has voiced his dismay after being accused of sending a woman sex videos and photos. Swedish police have opened an enquiry after the woman claimed the left-back sent her the images via social media.

She told national TV: “I was shocked and violated.”

However Olsson, who has had nine Premier League seasons with Blackburn, Norwich and Swansea, claimed his innocence – and insisted he is the victim of identity theft.

The defender played at the World Cup finals this summer, coming on as a sub in Sweden’s2-0 quarter-final loss to England.

Swedish FA general secretary Hakan Sjostrand said: “We learned that the player has been subjected to ID hijacking for several years.

“In consultation with him we contacted the police. This is a very serious crime.”

One of the videos reportedly shows Olsson, 30, pleasuring himself.

But the player insisted: “Someone is trying to destroy me, or they are mentally unstable. I don’t know why they do this.

“This is not the first time something like this has happened. It is not good for me, when I am innocent.

“Some people send pictures and videos and harass women. Now it is enough, so I have helped the Swedish FA and police so they can find the guilty party.

“There have been so many fake accounts in recent years. Things have gone too far, and it is time to act.

“This has been happening to me since 2013. Accounts have been closed, but new ones have since been opened.

“I hope we can prevent this happening to other women and other footballers in the future.”
