Rachael Bland’s final podcast has been released, a week after the BBC presenter’s death. In a poignant moment with co-presenters Deborah James and Lauren Mahon, Rachael talks about coping with her ‘new normal’ on the podcast You, Me And The Big C. ‘The way I deal with it is by not thinking about it too deeply. I know I’m probably not going to be living for much longer but I don’t think about it too deeply because I wouldn’t be able to look at Freddie without weeping all over him,’ she said, speaking of her three-year-old son. ‘I want to spend valuable time with him – whatever time I have left – I want it to be good time.’
Titled ‘About The New Normal’, the episode ‘looks at the term which is often used by doctors and cancer communities when referring to patients finding a sense of normality in their lives after diagnosis and treatment’.
