Losing your virginity is a big deal. And if you do decide to hold on until marriage, then you have a responsibility to yourself to ensure you end up with the right guy.
Unfortunately, the right guy will not simply appear on your lap. You may encounter a few terrible choices before a real man comes along. To save yourself the drama, here are three main types of guys to avoid if you’re waiting to lose your virginity.
The ‘I like a challenge’ guy:
You tell this one you’re a virgin and he suddenly considers you a challenge. Basically, he places a bet with himself or whoever that he can make you give into him. He’s cocky and thinks he’s God’s gift to women so if he succeeds in convincing you to lose it to him, he walks around with a chip on his shoulder.

You can spot him by the way he carries himself. But one way to know for sure is if he continues trying to get you to have sex with him despite knowing your stand. He may push a simple goodnight peck further and will always try to get you alone so he can make his move.
The ‘you’re a virgin but I don’t have to wait’ guy
This is one of the types of guys to avoid because he thinks your being a virgin gives him carte blanche to have sexual relations with other women. He won’t pressure you for sex, but he doesn’t consider it necessary to wait either.
Simply put, he likes the idea of marrying a virgin but he’s doing nothing to be deserving of you. He’s disrespectful and even after you’re married, prepare to be cheated on time and time again.

The ‘obsessed with your virginity’ guy
He’s on board with your virginity and may even wait with you. He seems like the perfect guy, right? But here’s the catch, your virginity is the only thing he sees when he looks at you. He can’t stop talking about it. If you ask him to name your favorite color or best food, he doesn’t know. But he will shout from the rooftop about bagging a virgin.
This is one of the types of guys to avoid. You are much more than what’s between your legs. You risk him losing interest after marriage because he suddenly does not see anything else you’re good for.
If you’re ready to take that plunge, here’s what you need to know about having an amazing first-time experience.
