Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, turned down offers from some German Bundesliga teams to join Italian Serie A side, Torino, the Nigeria international’s agent has revealed and explained the motive behind the decision, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Aina who is poised to make his third Serie A appearance for Torino when they host Napoli on Sunday dreams of a return to Chelsea at the end of his one year loan deal at Italian Serie A side, Torino
“He had several options, the boy wanted to try something different, he had some offers in the Bundesliga, but he liked the perspective of Italy,” his agent, Emaka Obasi told Italian Radio, Marte.
“We knew Mazzarri because he had experiences in England, his call was crucial. When he called him and explained how he would put him in the team and how he would help him improve, that lured Aina.”
Aina spent last season on loan at Hull City from Chelsea and was a surprise exclusion from Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
