A 10-year-boy identified as Yusuf has reportedly drowned in Dandaru river along Mokola-Secretariat road in Ibadan, Oyo state on Wednesday, 24th of October, 2018.
According to Abiodun (Double A), the boy was said to had mounted on a cliff for a dive when he mistakenly slid off and drowned in the river.
It was gathered that the boy was deaf and had been abandoned by his parents long time ago.
An eyewitness said that, children and others sleeping under the Mokola overhead bridge often visit the river for a swim for a token of N50.
He urged the Oyo State Government to take necessary prevent the incident from happening again.
