The UK’s tallest man is finally getting his first suit – spending £1,500 on an outfit which contains twice the amount of fabric a regular man would need. Paul Sturgess, 30, stands at an impressive 7ft 7ins and has been trying for years to find a tailor that would make him a suit in his size.
Eventually Mr Sturgess, from Loughborough, managed to find Tim Nash from Norton and Townsend tailoring in London who gladly agreed to make him a suit which would fit.
He said: ‘I have always struggled a lot finding someone to make me a suit. I reached out to a few people but no one was up for it.
‘It has been tedious and it took me quite a while, but Tim agreed straight away.
‘I have never had a suit in my life. I went to my best friend’s wedding with trousers and a shirt, I was still dressed smartly, but everyone needs a suit.’
He said: ‘When I lived in the USA, it was so much easier, I did a lot of shopping online and there are more sizes available.
‘Apart from the suit, I have had a custom made bed and golf clubs – I wouldn’t say I have had trouble with anything else.
‘I am very grateful, especially since I have been struggling to find someone to do the job.
‘I am very excited and I am really looking forward to wear my new suit.’
The £1,500 three piece suit, made in medium grey wool, it is a size 19 and takes twice the amount of fabric a regular man would need.
