Aiteo Cup Final: Rangers Edge Pillars To Win Sixth Title

Enugu Rangers produced a stunning comeback to win a sixth Aiteo Federation Cup title against Kano Pillars at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

The Flying Eagles rallied back from three goals down to win the encounter 4-3 on penalties.

It was the Enugu club first title since 1983 and the first under head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote.

Pillars took the lead in the fifth minute through Rabiu Ali who unleashed a powerful into the net from outside the box.

Alhassan Ibrahim doubled Pillars lead in the 20th minute nodding home from a corner.

Pillars missed a couple of chances afterwards but got the the third goal through Nyima Nwagua three minutes after the break.

Kelvin Itoya pulled a goal back for Rangers in the 77th minute with a stunning shot that beat David Obiozor.

Former Golden Eaglets star, Chidera Ezeh tapped home the second goal from close range eight minutes from time.
Substitute Ajani Ibrahim completed the comeback with a cool finish one minutes into added time.

Penalty shoot-out was needed to separate both teams at the end of regulation with Rangers edging the contest 4-3.
