Nigeria winger, Alex Iwobi, has declared that Arsenal are not afraid of any team after the Gunners stretched their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions following Sunday’s 5-1 away win against Fulham at the Craven Cottage, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Iwobi made his fifth English Premier League appearance of the season for the rejigged Gunners who who are flying high again after losing their opening two games of the campaign against Manchester City and Chelsea.
Unai Emery’s men have also won their last six Premier League games, with Iwobi making his 70th EPL appearance for The Gunners since he made his debut during the 2015/2016 season.
And Iwobi reckons that the Gunners are battle ready for any opposition in the Premier League.
“We’re not afraid to play anyone. We’re playing without fear, we want to be consistent and keep it going,”Iwobi told Arsenal’s official website.
“The team spirit is better. The confidence is definitely better. We analyse the games a bit more and we’re proving to the fans as well as ourselves that we’re able to compete for the title.”
Iwobi also believes Arsenal can challenge for the league title alongside Manchester City and Liverpool.
“Well of course! But there’s a long way to go. It’s a marathon, so we just have to carry on being consistent,” Iwobi added.
The 22-year-old Nigeria international is also determined to continue doing his best for the North London club after impressing for the club in recent outings.
“The manager has given me a lot of confidence, telling me that when I get the ball to just be positive,” he stated.
“Whenever I am called upon to play, I always try to give my best and make sure that I can impose myself on the game.”
