The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram, has executed Hauwa Leman, an aide worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
According to TheCable, the insurgents have also vowed to keep Dapchi schoogirl Leah Sharibu as a slave for life.
Leman was abducted in March by a faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West African Province, along with two other aide workers, Saifura Khorsa, who was killed on September 16 and Alice Loksha, a nurse working for the United Nations Children and Education Fund.
The killing of Leman comes after the expiration of the deadline given to the Federal Government by the terrorist organisation.
Leah Sharibu, who was one of the students abducted from a Dapchi school in February is still being held by the group.
Leman’s killing happened despite a last-minute passionate appeal by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) “to the Nigerian Government and to communities and individuals with influence to work toward the release of two committed medical workers abducted in north-eastern Nigeria earlier this year”.
