Enyimba players and their officials have left for Casablanca, Morocco for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup, semi-final clash against Raja Casablanca billed for Wednesday at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
The contingent departed the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday morning and are expected to arrive Casablanca later in the day.
The Peoples Elephant fell to a 1-0 defeat at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba in the first leg and must overturn the deficit to keep alive their hopes of winning a first CAF Confederation Cup title.
Usman Abdallah’s men have won twice on the road in the competition this year but will need an extra effort to beat the Moroccans who dominated play completely in the first leg.
Talented forward, Sunday Adetunji believes they can overturn the result despite the enormity of the task before them.
“We are all disappointed with the result of the first leg but we believe everything is not over yet. We just have to believe and improve on our performance,” Adetunji told CSN.
” 0ne thing our supporters can be sure of is that we will go all out fighting till the end. We know they have a big stadium and the fans will be very hostile to us but we have to be prepared psychological for that.
“If they can beat us in Aba nothing stops us from beating them in Casablanca.
No Nigerian club has ever won the title in the past with the likes of Enugu Rangers and Sunshine Stars coming close in the past.
