The body of a former Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi, who died in a hospital in London on Saturday has arrived Nigeria.
As announced by the family, the body arrived aboard British Airways at the Nmamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja this morning.
His corpse was accompanied by Hon Sani Idris Legbo Kutigi, Former House of Representatives member ( Lavun/ Edati/ Mokwa)
The late CJN’s Children and family members were at the airport to receive the body.
On hand to receive the body of the former CJN were Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Hon Justice Walter Onnoghen, Chief of Staff to Niger State Governor, Hon Mikhail Almin Bmitosahi, Member House of Representatives, Hon Umar Bago, Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon Justice Mahmoud Mohammed, Commissioner for Work and Infrastructure, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe, Secretary of Nigeria Judicial Council,NJC, Alhaji Gambo Saleh and Secretary Federal Judicial Service Commission, FJSC,Mr Bassey E Bassey

However, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the former CJN should be buried at the National Cemetery in Abuja.
Kutigi, who served as CJN between January 30, 2007 and December 31, 2009, died after a brief illness. He died at the age of 78.
