Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, has charged the team to remain focused ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying reverse fixture against Libya in Ajax Tunisia on Tuesday following their win against same opponent on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Gernot Rohr’s men thrashed the Mediterranean Knights 4-0 at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium Uyo in their Group E matchday-four encounter on Saturday.
Changchun Yatai of China of striker, Odion Ighalo netted a hat-trick for the Super Eagles, with Samuel Kalu scoring the other, his first international goal for Nigeria.
“It was a good performance from the Super Eagles against Libya. They fought really hard against a tough opposition and I want to commend them for their efforts,” Babangida told CSN.
“The Libyans gave us a good fight, but our players did well to weather the storm which was quite commendable.
“Now, they must concentrate on the next game on Tuesday. I hope we can win that as well to improve our chances of qualifying for the AFCON.
“It’s a shame that we have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the competition and we can’t afford to miss out again.”
