Super Eagles left back, Elderson Echiejile, believes the three time African champions, Nigeria have enough talent at their disposal to beat Libya over two legs in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Echiejile who was left out of the Super Eagles’ squad for the double header against Libya expressed confidence that the team will be back in AFCON after missing out on the last two editions.
“I think we should be confident going into the game,” Echiejile told CSN.
“We are currently third in the group and I think we can upstage them, winning over two legs.
“The team is self motivated by one thing which is hunger to qualify for the tournament which we’ve missed the last two editions.”
Echiejile who terminated his contract with AS Monaco in the summer also reveals that he is close to agreeing a deal with a club he wouldn’t disclose the identity now.
“Yeah, a deal is close but I am keeping my options open. A deal could be sign sooner than you think,” he said
Libya top Group E with four points with a superior goal difference to South Africa’S who also have four points and are In the second position. Nigeria lie third with Seychelles occupying fourth place.
