Nigerian-born British world boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua could be in line to face Deontay Wilder after all, as a new offer has been made to the American’s team.

Wilder faces former champion Tyson Fury on December 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
He was touted to be the next opponent for Joshua, after the brit knocked out Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium.

However, with the deal agreed to face Fury this year, any heavyweight unification showdown will have to wait until 2019.

The date and venue of Joshua’s next fight has already been confirmed, as he signed a deal to hold his next two fights at Wembley Stadium earlier in the year.

The first has happened, as he took on Povetkin in a WBA mandatory defence, and his next outing will be at Wembley on April 13.Fans are hoping that the opponent will be Wilder, who currently holds the only heavyweight title Joshua doesn’t have, the WBC.
