A scuffle between three brothers has led to the death of a young man and one other seriously injured after a disagreement over their family god.
The 25-year-old man simply identified as Agbomor allegedly butchered his brother at Adansi Brekete in the Ashanti region in Ghana.
The deceased was said to have incurred the wrath of Agbomor, when he tried to prevent him from setting a family god ablaze. He died instantly while another brother Agbomor attacked in the process, suffered from serious cutlass wounds and is currently battling for his life at the New Edubease Government Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
The suspect, who took to his heels after committing the crime, has since been arrested by the New Edubease police command.
According to preliminary checks by Adom News, the suspect threatened to set a family god, which has been there for decades, ablaze.
Family members including parents and grandparents of the suspect who was at home at the time of the incident, fled for their lives after the suspect threatened to kill anybody who prevented him from burning the gods.
The victims who were not at home at the beginning of the incident returned to see the gods on fire.
They questioned Agbomor as to why he was burning the gods which have been the Pillar of the family for many years.
After few minutes of serious confrontation among the three family members, Agbomor inflicted Cutlass wounds on them killing one instantly while the other one had serious injuries.
Investigations into the matter are continuing by New Edubease police.
