Lionel Messi has been ruled out for approximately three weeks after he fractured his radial bone.
Messi was taken off in the 26th minute after he fell awkwardly on his right arm in the 17th minute in Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Sevilla at Camp Nou in a Spanish La Liga game on Saturday.
“Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm. He will be out for approximately three weeks,” a Tweet on the official handle of FC Barcelona revealed.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will miss Barcelona’s next three games.
Barca face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday, before hosting arch rivals Real Madrid next Sunday.
The Catalans then face three away games in a row against Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey, Rayo Vallecano in La Liga and the return game with Inter in the Champions League.
