Victor Moses was left out of Chelsea’s match day squad that held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw in their English Premier League clash at the Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s early kick-off game, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
It was Chelsea’s first defeat this season.
Antonio Rudiger scored in the 20th minute for Chelsea but a second half brace from Anthony Martial secured a consecutive win for Manchester United this season.
Moses has made two substitute appearances this season.
United started the clash defensively with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford playing as full backs.
Willian had the first real chance at goal from the edge of the box but he blazed his free-kick wide after Eden Hazard was fouled by Nemanja Matic in the 13th minute.
Seven minutes later, Antonio Rudiger powered in a header to hand the hosts the lead off a corner fromantic Willian. It was his first goal in 2018.
At the restart, Chelsea raced out of the block and had sniff at goal when David Luiz was played through on goal by Hazard’s flick but the Brazilian skied his shot wide.
Martial restored parity for Manchester United seven minutes after the break. Luiz came close to restoring parity in the 64th with a flick header, but he missed the target.
Martial bagged his second finishing off a brilliant counter attack move in the 69th minute to hand the the Red Devils the lead.
Maurizio Sarri reacted to the goal by bringing on Ross Barkley, Pedro Rodriguez, and Oliver Giroud for Mateo Kovacic Willian and Alvaro Morata.
Chelsea pressed for an equaliser and they got it through Ross Barkley in additional time. The England international fired in a rebound shot to earn Chelsea a point from the game.
