Mother Of Nigerian Player, Uche Agbo, Dies Mysteriously Days To Libya Clash

She was not sick, she went to bed and never woke up again, those were the lamentations of the elder brother of Super Eagles and Standard Liege midfielder Uche Agbo as he broke the sad news of the demise of their mother.The mother of the Super Eagles midfielder died in the Coal City of Enugu and it is understood that Uche who plays his club football in Belgium with Standard Liege is currently in town as a result of the death of his mother.
Uche Agbo’s older brother, Oliver, told SCORENigeria: “We have lost our mum.

“She didn’t deserve to die now because she suffered to raise us up but did not reap the fruits of her labour.”

The former Jigawa Golden Stars midfielder recalled she supported he and his three brothers in their football career.

He said, “All of us in the family are footballers. She believed in our talent and encouraged us with the little money she had to buy boots and any other football kits we needed.
“It’s still like a dream that my mum is no more because she was not sick.”
The former jigawa golden star player busted into tears as he hung up the phone.

Uche got his first call-up to the senior Nigeria side to replace the injured Leon Balogun for a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia in October 2016.
On June 1, 2017, he did get his international debut for Nigeria in a 3–0 win against Togo in a friendly where he replaced Wilfred Ndidi.
He was selected for Nigeria’s preliminary 30-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

However, he did not make the final 23.
Born in Kano, Uche started playing for local lowly Bai Boys, and moved to Taraba in 2010.
In May 2011 he signed for JUTH, and appeared regularly for the side, scoring once.
In January 2012 Uche joined Enyimba International along with teammate James Amankwei.
