By Adeboye Amosu:
Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is glad to play his first competitive game for Spanish club, CD Leganes in Saturday’s 1-0 home win against Rayo Vallecano, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Omeruo, 24, took the place of the injured Unai Bustinza in the 29th minute of the encounter at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Leganes secured maximum points in the game thanks to Guido Carrillo’s first-half strike.

Despite the victory, Mauricio Pellegrino’s men sit in the relegation zone with seven points from eight matches.

Omeruo, who is on a season-long loan at the Cucumber Growers from English Premier League side Chelsea, has struggled to break into the first team squad since his arrival.

#cdleganes 1 – 0 #rayovallecano glad to make my debut in Win.. Vamos leganes ????,” reads the Omeruo’s Tweet.

Omeruo’s fine showing in the game will be a morale-booster for him as he heads to Super Eagles’ camp for their double-header 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Libya on October 13 and 16.
